Based on the complete lyric above, I conclude that this One Direction's What Makes You Beautiful song is about a man's encouragement to his inconfident girl. She feels insecure with herself. She thinks of herself not beautiful. She doesn't think herself of having something of other's interest. As a result, she chooses to avoid meeting with the boy who loves her.

Meanwhile, crushing on the girl, the boy sees her in totally different way. He thinks the girl has everthing. She is perfect in his eyes. So perfect is she that she does not need make up to look gorgeous because in his mind she is beautiful just the way she is.

Well, you know nowadays teenages often feels insecure. They like to compare themselves with their idols on television. And, guess what? In so doing, they usually focus on physical appearance. Of course, comparing themselves with their idols in term of physical appearance will result in disappointment. They are disappointed because they see themselves not as beautiful as their diols. Finally, for some, the disappointment make them lose self confidence.

Again, that is because they just look at physical appearance. As a matter of fact, it's not only physical appearance which can attract others especially of different sex. It's inner beauty which can hit the heart louder. And it is the influence of inner beauty which will be likely to last longer. SO, if I may give you suggestion, change the way you look at yourselves because you are beautiful just the way you are.
