Success is not a thing which comes voluntarily. It must be pursued. It must be fought for. It can only be reached with great struggles. In other words, success can only be achieved after ones go through and pass a test, a life test. Without passing the test, ones cannot be called successful even if what they finally have is not different from the ones who have passed the test. As a matter of fact, instead of being called successful, those having anything without passing the test are just called lucky.
This Sway's Level Up song seems to me to tell about one's persistence and determination to pursue his dream whatever it takes and whoever will come in his way. The chorus part of the song strongly holds this main idea. The "I'll never lose the game, I'm gonna last" line clearly shows how determined and persistent he is to pursue his dream.
However, in my opinion, all he is saying in the song has not been achieved. He has not been famous. He isn't a star yet. So, all he says in the song is still a dream. And he is a dreamer. But, he is a determined and persistent dreamer. With such character, I believe his dream will soon come true. To this point, please don't relate the song with Sway's personal experience.
If it is related to Sway's life, however, I believe the song tells about his struggle to come to his current condition, successful rapper. So, Sway was and is a dreamer. And now he has got to where he just dreamed of. How about you? Have you achieved your dreams?
