Loving someone (romantically) is an important stage in life. It may happen early in one's childhood. However In majority it happens in one's teenage. Whenever it may be, it gives special, exciting feeling to those who experience it.
When you fall in love, you feel everything pleasantly. Seeing the one you love, you feel happy. Hearing his/her voice, you feel like flying. And finally, when the one you love also feels the same to you, you feel like in heaven.
True lovers will always remember that important stage and feeling. That's why when the time comes for them to have the love they have been expecting, they will take care of it with heart and soul. They will never disappoint their lovers purposely. They will not make them down. And they will not waste the love and life they have.
In my opinion, this Adam Lambert song Feel Something tells us about a man's regret after disappointing his lovers and wasting their love. He is now alone after his lovers left him.
Of course, he is lonesome. And more importantly, he feels guilty. So, he closes his heart for anyone. He "built all these walls so no one could break in". However, he cannot deny that he still needs love, to love and be loved. It's love that could ease his mind. "Truth is, I miss those nights when my heart could be naked" and so he sings.
In such situation, he just wants to feel something. "At least it's better than nothing," so the song goes.
